I’m Moon Karim, a traveller and professional guide from Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. For years, I have been welcoming travellers from around the world and taking them beyond the standard tourist experience to discover the Pakistan I know and love.

For me, being a guide is not simply about knowing roads, history, or the names of mountains. It is about people.

I want my guests to experience Pakistan through its communities — sharing tea with local families, meeting elders, walking through villages, learning about traditions, tasting local food, and hearing stories that cannot be found in a guidebook.

I believe guests are not clients; they are family. When someone travels thousands of kilometres to experience my country, I want them to leave not only with photographs, but with memories, friendships, and a deeper understanding of Pakistan.

Working with groups has also taught me the importance of patience, communication, and responsibility. I remain calm and composed, even when plans change or unexpected situations arise. I believe a good guide should be able to handle challenges professionally, listen to guests, understand their needs, and find practical solutions without creating unnecessary stress.

My responsibility is not only to show people the way, but also to make them feel safe, comfortable, respected, and welcomed throughout their journey.

My work as a guide has taken me across some of Pakistan’s most extraordinary landscapes — from the high mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan to the cultural heart of Punjab. I have travelled with people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, and every journey has taught me something new.

Beyond guiding, I am a cyclist, adventurer, football coach, and storyteller. Through my Cycling for Climate journey, I am exploring Pakistan by bicycle, documenting environmental challenges, meeting communities, and sharing stories from places that are often unheard.

I don’t claim to know everything about Pakistan. I simply know that there is always more to discover, more people to meet, and more stories to tell.

My purpose is simple: to connect people with places, and people with people — while making every journey meaningful, comfortable, and memorable.
